![]() | FULL 07:00 PM - 08:00 PM @ NYCGS - Midtown (30th St)Lead Guitar Workout and Solo - (Advanced Elective) Clayton View Details About the Class This Advanced Drop-in class is a combination of our two successful drop ins "Lead Guitar Workout" and "How to Solo". In this class you will spend equal time exercising your skills technically and using your skills creatively and musically. For the first half of the class we do drills with the metronome, to work on your rhythm and timing. We dig into scale patterns, chord tones, arpeggios and all of the techniques you need to solo. Then we spend the second half of the class soloing. Using a chord progression to build on, we go over solo options and how use them in time to solo. Lots of playing and learning in this fun class that will keep you moving. This class build upon Suke Cerulo's Lead Classes. Prerequisites: For intermediate to advanced guitar players who want to exercise their lead guitar skills. Basic understanding of notes, pentatonic scales, metronomes, and rhythms are needed. You should also be comfortable with open and barre chords. **Note: Classes with low enrollment will be cancelled two days in advance. Be sure to sign up for your favorite classes before then to reserve your spot!** Clayton Clayton Hopkins is a NYC/NJ based guitarist, songwriter, and singer. He studied Music Engineering, Production, Contemporary Guitar, and Composition/Songwriting at Frost School of Music before moving to NYC to pursue his original music full-time. Clayton’s contemporary rock n roll group, Clayton-Ellis, has toured the UK 3 times and Clayton co-wrote and co-produced all the material on the band’s debut album. In addition to teaching with NYC Guitar School, he is currently writing and producing material for a new album and he also has a featured role in a television pilot. Clayton is excited to share his love of rock and acoustic guitar with students.
