Ben started teaching at NYCGS shortly after graduating from college in 2019, and has been here ever since. In addition to recording as a session guitarist, Ben currently plays lead guitar in the indie rock band War Honey. War Honey has been described by A Grrrl’s Two Sound Cents as “hav(ing) blown every other promising young band out of the water,” and “an almost transcendent experience,” by Razorcake Magazine.

The band is currently signed to Handstand Records and have released two extended plays that have both received radio airplay and critical acclaim, and have together accumulated hundreds of thousands of streams. Outside of music, Ben enjoys writing fiction and making zines. He is the author of the books My Birth And Other Regrets and Snailbutter, and over forty published short stories.

Ben believes that the guitar is a creative tool that each person will learn to use a little differently. Austin D’Adamo is a guitarist, bassist and composer from North Carolina. He received his degree in Music Performance at Valencia College in Orlando, FL under the sage tutelage of Orlando jazz guitarist and educator Bob Holtum. Since relocating to NYC in 2017 he has played with a number of local rock and pop acts, pit orchestras, and improvised music groups – and all along the way he has taught and tutored students of all ages and skill levels on guitar, bass, and music theory.

Austin is well-versed in many genres including jazz, soul, R&B, classical, rock, pop, and country – if it’s good music, you can’t keep him away from it! You might catch him playing and recording with local acts such as The Newsreels, Rocky Billop, and his own jazz-fusion trio Our Messy Ghost.

It is Austin’s belief that his horizons would never have been as broad as they are now if not for music; the guitar taught him patience and acceptance, and it led him to appreciate cultures that he otherwise may have never known. It’s for this reason that he enjoys teaching as much as he enjoys performing – because he loves to see a student’s world get bigger and their love for music grow.

His professional experience includes everything from bar gigs co-starring the weekly hockey game to cross-country indie tours stuffed in a cramped van to backing up Grammy and Juno (Canadian Grammy) award-winning artists. The genres are equally diverse as the gigs; folk/singer-songwriter, rock, top 40, r&b, country and jazz just to name a few.

Although the bass has been Eric’s primary musical instrument, his guitar playing has always held an important role. In fact, during a decade of teaching, most his students have been guitarists...let’s face it, only a select few listen to Jimi Hendrix and want to be Noel Redding!
His teaching style is encouraging, motivating and relaxed while focusing on each student's personal musical taste and aspirations. Eric’s goal is to inspire each student to discover all that the guitar (or bass!) has to offer and help cultivate a love of music.

She's been in several bands ranging in style from Funk, Brazilian Music, Hard Rock, Blues, and even Metal!

Her passion is shredding on the electric guitar, but she also fingerpicks an acoustic guitar beautifully.

Her training as a musician consists of many, many years of private instruction, school instruction, and way over 30,000 hours of practice!

She attended the Guitar Institute of Technology (I,G&T) in Sao Paulo, Brasil, graduating in 1989. Eliane also studied Audio Recording at the Musician's Institute (MI) in Hollywood, CA. She is an accomplished guitarist, composer, and sound engineer!

Besides being a great musician, Eliane is a remarkable teacher; extremely patient and friendly.

In 2009, Eliane was featured in the Daily News as one of “NY’s Guitar Heros” due to her extensive work teaching Rock Guitar for Kids and Teens!

Eliane has been teaching at NYC Guitar School since 2007. She loves teaching children, teens, and adults. Eliane has over 20 years of teaching experience and her specialties include private lessons, each level of the Beginners Classes, Lead Guitar, Brazilian Guitar, Rock Guitar for Kids and Teens, Adult Rock Band and Summer Camp.

In the Summer of 2010, Eliane successfully directed NYC Guitar School Rock Camp.
Eliane is the founder of Happy Hour Guitar (www.happyhourguitar.com), a great practice session where students turn their guitar learning into guitar playing.

In May of 2012, Eliane and her students were invited to perform at the United Nations as part of Children’s Day of Turkey. She was honored along fellow teachers on stage by the Ambassador of Turkey!
